וְאִ֨ישׁ בְּמָע֜וֹן וּמַעֲשֵׂ֣הוּ בַכַּרְמֶ֗ל וְהָאִישׁ֙ גָּד֣וֹל מְאֹ֔ד וְל֛וֹ צֹ֥אן שְׁלֹֽשֶׁת־אֲלָפִ֖ים וְאֶ֣לֶף עִזִּ֑ים וַיְהִ֛י בִּגְזֹ֥ז אֶת־צֹאנ֖וֹ בַּכַּרְמֶֽל׃
Ada seorang laki-laki di Maon yang harta miliknya berada di Karmel. Orang itu sangat kaya; ia mempunyai tiga ribu ekor domba dan seribu ekor kambing. Pada waktu itu ia sedang menggunting bulu dombanya di Karmel.
